Abinadab Scott, age 85, of White Plains, Maryland, passed away on November 2, 2022. He was born on August 7, 1937 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Mr.William L.Scott and Mrs. Ethel M. Scott.

In his early years, he traveled with his parents who served as missionaries. On May 26, 1957, Abinadab married Florena Mosely and began their lives together in matrimony in the states of Georgia, The District of Columbia (Washington, DC), then later Maryland.

"Benny" or "Adab" as he was affectionately called, enjoyed driving and traveling. He began a career as a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service (USPS); a bus operator for the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority (WMATA or Metro) and worked there for 19 years, then later opened his own charter bus company called S&M Charter. The company conducted guided tours nationwide. Benny was always a people person and had jobs interacting with people. Also, during this time, he held his mentors, Mr. Willie Preston and Mr. Hightower, in high regard.

Abinadab is survived by his wife, Florena Mosely Scott; his sons Abinadab Scott, (Ben-Ben) Jr., Michael (Christy) Scott of Warner Robins, GA and Roland T. Scott of Richmond, VA; his daughters Mary E. Scott Davis of Orlando, FL; stepdaughter Cynthia M. Jones Mosely; Jillian (Darian) Allen of Washington, DC and Sandrea Abney of Washington, DC. He is also survived by his brother, David (Gail) Scott of Coshocton; sisters Ruth (Donnie) Montgomery of Indianapolis, IN, Joyce Pollard of Zanesville, OH and Jewel Scott of Newark, NJ. Abinadab has 21 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, November 15 from 10:00 am until time of service 11:00 am at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel, 3439 Livingston Road Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment immediately following at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, Maryland.
