Green, James Edward (Age 78) of Dentsville, Maryland.
James Edward Green went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday May 26, 2012 at his home in Dentsville, Maryland. James was born in Charles County, MD on July 7, 1933 to the late John Allen and Mary Florence Green.
He received his education in the Charles County Public School system, graduating from BelAlton High School in 1951. James moved to the District of Columbia after high school and lived with his Aunt and Uncle while working for the Federal Government. After his employment in the Federal Government, James enlisted in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge in 1957. He eventually ended up working at his home away from home which was for the Board of Education at La Plata High School in La Plata, MD until he retired in 1999.
In 1959 he married the love of his life, Mary Louise Winters whom he adored dearly. James was a fan of the Washington Redskins and enjoyed hunting with his brother, Wilson every November. James also was a barber in his spare time and he enjoyed fishing and playing baseball.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, John Wilson Green; sister, Dorothy Turner; grandchildren, Ebony and Jamar.
James leaves to cherish and celebrate his memories, wife, Mary Louise and four special daughters, Faith (Nita) Green, Tawahanna Woodland (Eric), Barbara Wells (Mark) and Terri Green; ten grandchildren, Charity, Troy, Eric, Travis, Dominique, Ursula, Courtney, Erica, Raja’ and Sade’; three great grandchildren, Tyvonne, Trinity and Kadyen; four step-grandchildren, Marcus, Norman III, James, Gregory and Ja-mar; two sisters, Ethel Bernice Thomas and Mary Inez Green; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Mason and Dorothy Harper; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Harper; one very special son, Ronnie Gray and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
Viewing, 11:00am until Mass of Christian Burial, 12 noon on Friday, June 1, 2012 at St. Mary’s Newport Catholic Church, 11555 St. Mary’s Church Road, Charlotte Hall, Maryland 20622. Interment, Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland.
